First, I like both of your ideas. Effective and simple. Maybe someone can get a thread going of who they've seen, price they paid, services offered, and and we can build off that.

Here's a handful more that require some coordination. A group of probably 10 could make this effective.

1. Start a "provider interest" thread. Get PM's of other folks who are interested. Enough line up, OP messages provider, says "hey what kind of group discount can you run, there's ten of us interested at 'X' price?

2. This one's more to weed out the bad seeds. Anyone who posts about an "I got robbed" post, flood that provider with messages. Set up appt's, flake on them, whatever it takes. Get the bad actors out of town. Course, this relies on us being stand up, and not just posting that shit willy nilly. Know that (may have?) happened a few years back with one provider who did call her DB, but ol' boy was tryin for some backdoor play in the act or something? I dunno, just throwing ideas out there.

Not sure if this is against rules or anything, just figure we could actually do something with the "strength in #'s" thing I keep reading about.

I do not know how we can protect ourselves from getting robbed by a guy in the bathroom. If you saw him when you walked in what would you have done? Run? That did not work. Other than what I put in my last post, which was basically just "accept the risks or call their bluff".

1. Stay away from hotels that are known issues, in areas that are sketchy, or that just look sketchy.

2. Only frequent hotels that don't have doors facing the outside.
