I love our military, I was prior militar, but man you act like navy seals are some invincible ultimate weapon. Yes they have a lot of training but the biggest thing that gives them the upper hand in any mission is the element of surprise and crap load of planning beforehand.

Now in the hypothetical situation you laid out, the cops have the element of surprise, the cops have the planning, the cops have fire superiority, and they're professionally trained; albeit not to the level that Seals are trained but they're not ragheads in the desert either. The seal has maybe a handgun and no armor. So just be realistic, no way one seal can face four guys in that situation. Maybe, just maybe he might get one in the face but no way he's walking out of that room.
