I just finished another month membership and it was definitely tougher than it's been in the past. I already blocked her when I reported her so her profile disappeared, and since she changes pictures and creates new profiles at least you have the telegram username to watch out for.

Been on there for years and never paid for a platonic date my friend. I've paid for dinners or events as I would any real life date but not just for their presence. Like another monger said, if they agree to what I want for in PPM or allowance then they'll get their monetary value. The problem are men who pay for OF or platonic dates and high rates for fugly women.

I've never paid for a meet-and-greet or other "platonic" date either, but my point was that women have been asking for it for a long time.

10+ years ago it came up often on the subreddit as well. The common response from men was "I don't pay for meet-and-greets or platonic dates" then as well.

This reminded me of the guy I knew who also 10+ years ago used to pay for dinner dates with porn stars. They'd come through Worcester (I think) to do a show and he'd go out to dinner with them afterwards. I know he wasn't having sex with them; it was just for dinner.

It did happen years ago -- I was using SA over 10 years ago -- but yes a fair bit less. I've never been on SA without some percentage of SB's seeking some compensation for a first, platonic, date.

The women on there in 2026 are using Seeking to monitize their lives a little differently than they were 10+ years ago. That shift can show up as "entitlement" but I would submit is just a different mindset as to what they will do for money. Think about it -- if millions of men will pay for pics on OF, why wouldn't a man pay for a REAL LIFE coffee or drink date? To these girls, the paid platonic date is an extension of paid pics. To us mongers the platonic date is each party's "investment" in seeking out a sugar relationship. It's just two entirely different mindsets in 2026. I get it.

Insightful post! I think because I come from the days of CL personals before I used SA about 10 + yrs. Ago, I was shocked to hear of paid platonic dates in addition to dinner, etc. Your point of men who use OF would willingly pay for a non-sexual date is interesting and makes sense. However, maybe, because of OF and men using it, there is an arguable decline in in-person meets and women putting out ads. And men who would use OF exclusively, would be less likely to even go on dates. Seems to be a common lament as of late. We are indeed in a new age. The virtual gains on us. And it carries loss.
