If it prevents HIV, it prevents HIV. They likely specify "receiving anal sex" because that is the most likely way for a male to get HIV through sexual activity. Via infected semen. The transmission rates from vagina to penis are incredibly small, as are anus to penis because blood is a fairly weak transmission vector. Now if you were to get a transfusion that would be a different story, or if you had open sores on your penis and she was on her period, that would increase the odds, but generic vanilla sex the risk is very very very small for HIV (with a sloppy seconds caveat, because then you might be sliding in infected semen.).

I say all that to say. I wouldn't worry too much about HIV. All the other STDs are still out there though.

I agree with what you're saying for the most part. Although I don't think increased promiscuity is the core problem. Its the lack of balance, and the disregard for sexual health, which is a symptom of the larger education deficit that afflicts America.

In an ideal society, well-informed young folks can have sex, and practice good judgement with who they have sex with and how (as in, using condoms). Sex is wonderful, whether it's casual or monogamous, but like anything, one needs to have restraint and make good decisions because one bad decision can stick with you forever.

The lack of education here extends to sexual health. America has always had shitty sexual health curriculums, despite pushes to integrate it more deeply into education. In high school we had an hour long STD education class that happened in our school auditorium. That was only the sex health class I had ever had in the history of my school career.

As long as America's education institution continues to make sexual health education a low priority for young folks, this kind of rampant, irresponsible sex behavior is only going to get worse, especially as technology makes it easier, and the youth's role models (influencers, etc.) validate it.

In the real world in this day and age the youth meet up on apps, they drink and smoke, then they hop in the bed together that same day not getting tested first or using condoms consistently and they do this routine going through different people for years.

Another lady I briefly went out on a few real dates said she spent all her 20's partying in NYC drinking and now she's overweight with liver problems and single. I use stdcheck.com to order the tests. They send the order to my local LabCorp,. I am in and out in ten minutes.

The ten-panel test includes.

HIVType1, HIVType2, Herpes1, Herpes2, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Syphilis.

I add Trichomoniasis (Trich) once a year.

I skip the other optional tests as I have no symptoms and always wear a condom.

That's good to know, they've been around for a few years, and it it seems like lots of people here like them. Personally, I like to get the main tests done every 3 months or so, which helps with the ladies, too if you can show them a clean test result.

Oral transmission of STDs is very common, and even moreso for this kind of hobby. You can catch chlamydia, mycoplasma, & gonorrhea orally. Herpes as well. Likewise, for those who DATY.

Something I learned, firsthand, is that kissing with someone infected with oral chlamydia / gonorrhea can result in catching these ailments. And when you catch them orally, they tend to be asymptomatic compared to when its caught in the genitals. Keep in mind folks, with the amount of complete ignorance amongst providers and mongers, you can imagine that catching an STD is far easier in the hobby than anywhere else.

I'm not here to judge anyone at the end of the day. But for those who do care about your sex health -- get tested, frequently! My docs / urgent care know me very well, I take frequent visits. And I've never used protection with one or two exceptions when the provider wouldn't do anal without a condom, and I've never caught an STD (from a provider).

Wow, I am sure a bunch of scientists would be curious to find out your in-built defense mechanism. If they could obtain your blood sample, they might want to run a whole genome sequence so as to identify those novel genetic variants that make you so immune to all these types of STDs.
