Posts: 749No its the opposite. No bond = cashless. Under the SAFE-T Act they are released without any bond or cash required.

What I find interesting is that it seems to be a monthly thing now. Looking at the CPD site, since last September there is one a month with the exception of November where there is 2. Before September there is nothing for an AMP for years. Obviously RL was hit as well last year but that was by County. So is this a new CPD trend?

Posts: 367A good reporter would ask the sheriff if his efforts are eliminating the underground sex trade. Or even making a dent. Isn't that in itself a reason to not be so close-minded to decriminalization?

At least in Schaumburg. I don't think I can post the link but on her Twitter / X account RubyRedLexi tells an interesting story involving LEO, a hotel bar and a citation.

The way it was described to me was that to criminally charge you with a misdemeanor or felony is much harder to prosecute. Yes, their goal is to bust guys and make an example of them, as the court of public opinion then thinks the police and prosecutors are really doing "something". Making a county / municipal citation (same level is a disorderly conduct, minor in possession of alcohol, etc) makes it easier to prosecute, because since it's a ticket the majority of the people just pay the huge fine (not going to court). They still get to parade the dudes around but less court hassle and more money.

Posts: 755Kind of surprised its just a ticket, not 100% sure of the law, but a misdemeanor citation can still be issued and a conviction can still result. When I got busted in a sting the death blow to me was having my mug shot posted on the local news and news paper for 3 days straight. That destroyed my life and to this day, 4 years later still does as a simple google search brings it up. Although I still beat a criminal conviction, you know the old saying of guilty in the court of public opinion. My attorney gave me a huge lesson in the why, but also some of the dirty tricks cops use. Their intent is to destroy a guys life, very rarely do they prosecute the girl selling, unless they have seen her a few times before.
