It seems like they are running a scam together in Villa Rica. I got caught up in it today—has anyone else experienced something similar?

It was her and you caught her period. I've seen chicks using their real names and pictures with their friends on there plenty of times and usually they were just green because they truly are not pros at selling it.

So what did you do when you contacted her? To me this sounds like stalking. Tell us the whole situation if it is something helpful for us.

I also considered that. But reaching out once is no way stalking. I knew her name, so tracking her down was simple. I contacted her out of curiosity as it didn't seem right. By ultimate result, whether she was truthful or not, I was right.

Was I honest in who I was? Hell no, LOL. That's part of this whole game.

I find that more likely than a vengeful ex bf going through all the trouble to setup an account on the site, especially since she pulled it right after someone she knows asked about it (whereas a vengeful ex likely wouldn't, but instead deny knowing about it while leaving it up). Not saying vengeful ex boyfriends won't do shit, but there's a lot other options that are less effort and / or higher impact than "make a fake dating profile on a p2 p site".

Oh, I agree, that could also explain it. I am certainly not niave enough to believe it outright. However, to me, there were a couple of red flags with the profile. First, it was a few months old and was logged into about the same amount of time from when it was created. So basically, it was created and then not logged into. Mostly inactive.

The next were the pictures, which included a lot of her friends. I know a lot of girls have pics with friends, but this seemed over-the-top to me. Also, none of the friends' faces were blurred. Again, not a guarantee.

Finally, when I said I contacted her I didn't tell her I knew of her. I just contacted her outside of SA. I didn't want her to know my profile there.

There are fake accounts everywhere. Either from the site owners or others. Ashley Madison was full of fake accounts.

The one good thing about this, it ought to mean that any new profiles of girls that show up have been verified in the same way, meaning they will be real people too.

It also motivates guys to keep their behavior in check, since old, grandfathered (no pun intended) profiles that didn't require this verification take on added value.

I have posted recently about old profiles that are clearly fake but have been resurrected, I am sure that is a scammer play.

But seeing as SA makes money off us mongers and not the girls, I bet they don't have to play by the same rules. But I really would like them to clean up the site with all those fake women / profiles. Luckily you can sense a bot / scammer profile form a mile a way, but it makes the search that much harder when I have to sort through 100's of profiles to find a few real girls.

Yeah this is new as of fall this year, had you renewed in summer would have been able to do it the old way. It's not just Seeking, SDM is doing the same thing, but I think it's still optional there.
