I feel like at least 50% of the time when I give an extra amount to a girl, she then expects it next time we meet, even if I make it clear the extra is a 1-time exception. I think it depends on the girl and your relationship. I have given extra when asked if it's for something specific and I value our relationship, like some extra spending money when they travel. Or if they need (not want) something urgently. But it is always clear it is the exception more than the rule. So rates always stay the same for me with extras from time to time. It does essentially boil down to a higher overall rate.

I have found that a small gift costing 10 $ is worth a lot more say 100 $ in allowance money and they don't expect that every time. I have a bunch of 10,25, 50 gift cards and some 12 $ pyjamas from Costco etc. in my car. Or wine bottle if over 21,. I hand them out occasionally and they get me far more mileage.

But agree with Arty, you give what you feel you are comfortable with. I started giving one of my SB 100 more because I was seeing her less and told her its because of inflation and by jolly, she loves me so much more. It was because she did not expect it.
