I think the dot is a bug in the forum software that automatically adds a period at the end of every sentence. Because you know, mongers are knuckle-draggers who don't know how to write English. The solution is to type a space and a word after you paste the link, so the period gets attached to the word instead of to the URL.

Was bummed out to hear Seria is already gone from the area, so I went to see Narumi at MP instead.
