Stopped by this morning. All the old talk of Nancy had me curious. I think I was the first customer of the day but there was a full family hanging outside (maybe the owners). Strange but hey I was already there.

I've been driving by this place for years but never stopped by until today. Unassuming white standalone building on Lincoln / Walker. Paid. 5 for 30 minutes. Got ready and in walks a decent looking k-girl named Nina. At first I thought she was young. It's hard to tell as she was masked the whole time, but on the flip when I got a better look I think she's probably early 40's. Petite little spinner body though. Very curious. I doubt that law enforcement shut them down. Downey has 5 or 6 AMPs that have been in business there for 25-30 years. I don't live in Downey anymore, but I did for 22 years. One day I went on a ride along with a Downey PD officer and he actually pointed out all 6 MPs to me and told me they know exactly what goes on in there, but as long as there aren't complaints from the community they pretty much just leave them alone. What happens in there is contained and relatively harmless. They'd rather have it contained in there than in a cheap motel room where there's probably drugs and other stuff going on along with the mongering.

If I were to guess, Havana was offering other things like waxing. That is regulated by the state Barber / Cosmo board. It's entirely possible they got a surprise inspection and shut down because they didn't meet state board standards. I have to deal with those inspections from time to time.

Hopefully it's a temporary thing and not a permanent closure. We will see.

EDIT: Seems that they're open. I texted them and they replied back with pictures of today's providers. I'm not intending to go up there today but they are seemingly alive and well. Don't know what to say about their IG.
