First, I haven't been on these boards in years but I use to participate and this was the first place I decided to look for news. Second, this whole thing was a senseless killing of innocent people by a crazy guy. Third, I want to respectfully challenge all of the hate crime sentiment that is being thrown around. Again, this guy was a crazy guy who I have no doubt was motivated by the industry and whatever weird temptations he felt. If he was gay and these were gay spas with homosexual men who were shot, that would be called a hate crime. If this industry was Hispanic, it would be called a hate crime. If it was white women, it would be called a misogynistic hate crime. Correlation is not causation. If he hated asians, he would have gone to Buford highway and shot up a flea market or a Ramen noodle shop. This was Spa specific and spas happen to be run by Asian women. Why does everything have to be twisted to prove there is hatred in this country?

There have been forces in our country for years attempting to divide us. Forces attacking from all directions. Multiculturalism is a direct affront to.

He didn't call them jizz dumpsters specifically. He was calling out all of those mongers out there who only see these women as jizz dumpsters easily replaced. No offense taken. I understand the emotion behind what you are saying. Like you and many others on this thread I have thought of little else today and the pain the families and the friends must be going through right now. Sometimes there are just no words to adequately describe such an obscene awfulness as this.

I agree with Hobbyman, he was not disparaging the women, but calling out the hypocrites who have called these women those things, yet now act all distraught and upset over this tragedy. And he was challenging them to actually step up and take some action and do something like start a Gofundme instead of just hollow words.

You didn't read about Young's? He killed a white guy on-prem and a Hispanic dude who was coming out of a business next door. Parlors don't have couches with female employees sitting on them in a waiting area. I'm sure the perp just shot at whomever was close by.

It is not the point of the post and this threat but I do see couches around the lobby area of some parlors, like Li on Windy Hill, Angel in Doraville, Yue on Canton have them, just to name a few. I bet now no one will sit there anymore.

Claiming 'sex addiction' could be considered a mental illness whereas racism isn't when it comes to facing a jury. Is this SOB smart enough to have planned that out ahead? Or is crazy just crazy?

I am sorry to hear about these tragic killings. I'm not from Atlanta, but have visited other spas around the country. I believe these spas provide much-needed service to men, who do not have a personal relationship in their life. Many men do not have the social skills or ability to have "normal" sexual relations with other women. These spa women provide female interaction to these men, who are either too shy or unattractive to other women. Apparently, the killer is this type of man. It is sad this guy was so emotionally and intellectually screwed up to do what he did.

In closing, I have always thought the spas provided relief to men, who might otherwise rape or murder a woman, who might set them off. I think of the spa workers more as service workers, who provide a needed social service. It's too bad that it's not legal. Hopefully, it will be in the future. I know it won't be in my lifetime.

That is the exact conversation I had with someone yesterday about the parlors, it gives men a sexual outlet, if you take it away some might get desperate, to close them down would hurt the girls working there, the men who go there, and anyone who suffers as a side effect of the men not having an outlet.

I hope and pray that I'm wrong, but I think the lady that has been identified as "Xiaojie" may be someone that perhaps many on this board might know as Emily. She did tell me she lived in Kennesaw and this lady, Xiaojie, did as well. A truly sweet and wonderful woman whose cell phone number I had and she sometimes sent me random texts, including one for Merry Christmas a few years back. Heart is broken if Emily is a victim here; I will light a candle for her and all the other providers that lost their lives yesterday. A truly sad day and horrid chapter for all of us mongers on the board.

Emily did indeed pass away on that horrific day. Keep her in your thoughts today. She would have been 50 today.

The dude who wrote the hate-crime law says it could be, but because they are 'random' women and not because they are Chinese or Korean. They were there. Makes America see them as humans and not objects. Had it been Norcross Latinas and Koreans, there'd be no national outcry. And there should be. We'll see what happens.

Aromatherapy had a huge light up sign yes, but most of the spas here have subtle signs or are in old houses here as well but the media will publish the one sign that looks like it belongs on a strip club.

Yes, Gold Spa and Aromatherapy are lit up like Vegas because they've operated unchallenged for decades in the Buckhead area of Atlanta. I assume they pay off local officials to stay in business. That said, the average parlor in Atlanta doesn't advertise like that. Most have a simple Open sign and that's it.

After hearing about yesterday's horrific events I just don't know what to think. All three of those spas are ones I was a regular at for a long time. I knew each girl by name and many used to call and text me during their free time. These were real people with real thought and real needs. To take away their life based on any ideal or hate is just simply wrong. I'm just heartbroken. These girls and all the people shot deserved better. This was an act of hatred, racism and worst of all terrorism in my opinion. I really hope and pray for all of the victims and especially their families.
