WE own the devastation of the economy, we own the nine million more people that are going to die of hunger in 2021 as a direct result of the economic devastation as a result of covid mitigation, we DEMANDED it, we own it.

This isn't some MAGA asshole telling you this, I have voted for every single Democratic candidate since I was old enough to vote, we fucking did it, we did it because Trump said "I think it will just disappear in a few months" and WE fucking own the results. I knew in May that people would do this. I knew it, I knew they would refuse to accept responsibility for ignoring the damage they were causing and I knew then how fucking disgusted I would be with them when they did it and I was right.

If, as you say, you are still one of the left, then why? You say you knew in May that these people would do this. I knew it in March and paid for it through lost friendships when I made my feelings clear about what I knew would take place. I understand the feelings about Trump, but the left has tried to use the "pandemic" as a means of destroying the America they hate. I appreciate what you are saying but even though you say "we" as in the left owns it, many if not most of the left would completely disagree with you and most likely would do their damnedest to cancel you out. I'm no big fan or believer in the right but this year the left has shown itself to be without a shred of integrity, much less dignity. Can you still remain a part of this group when you know what they have done and what they are continuing to do?

Any death from a virus or illness is unnecessary in my book but, unfortunately, shit happens. Could we have done better? Hell yes. I think Bullet64 has summed it up best in post #3670. We have to keep the big picture in mind if we want to resolve anything.

A subset of something (at least politically) is usually nothing of worth.
