The worst thing Trump did is promote racism like saying there are fine people on on both side. That is fucked up, there are no fine fine people on other side, one side want to enslave colored people and call them less human and other side just trying to survive in this fucking Trump world. This Trump administration had no idea how to handle the COVID and tried to down play it. They started monitoring this in March and more than 100,000 died in just March, April, and May?? Do the math. If it would have been unchecked then it would be 300,000 or more in a year with all the shutdown and shit. Without shutdown and masks it could be million or more.

I'm going to assume you aren't any sort of health professional (or scholar since you don't know what punctuation and paragraphs look like) but you speak with a certainty that's interesting. Then you devolve into who you voted for as if that matters about the corona virus.

Exactly how did it "save" lives? I agree that they didn't die then, but what miracle is going to prevent them from dying now? Has a vaccine or viable treatment been discovered? Did staying inside for 3 months confer on them some magical protection? How are the people who would have succumbed to covid in March somehow able to survive it in June, July, or August?

There was one and ONLY one kind of death that shelter in place was supposed to prevent and that was death due to inaccessibility of health care because the health care system was overwhelmed which has never even come close to happening and before you trot out the "unprecedented" cases of doctors practicing in tents in NYC they did exactly the same thing in 2018. There was never going to be two million deaths like Neil "always wrong" Ferguson predicted (same guy who said Sweden would have 75,000 dead by the end of March unless they locked down) ultimatly this was the largest over reaction and demonstration of privilege (just stay home for 3 months, don't be so selfish, you will kill grandma) that I can recall seeing in my life.

Let me put it simply, you, and those who thought like you reacted in fear and insisted on a course of action that has driving a half a billion people back into extreme poverty, and now you want to justify your hysteria with bullshit nonsensical studies. You should be ashamed.

Your right, I don't use correct paragraph form in the spirit of saving space on this site. Not going to be able to grant your "Darwin" wish as I typically don't hug men and at this point don't do handshakes with either sex. If I am in an environment that requires it or around anyone at risk, I wear a facemask. Congratulations on probably reading more studies than I have. The track record of the author's of several of the mathematical models is not the best but absolutely, more masks and more shelter in place means less deaths. So, everyone upset about the unnecessary and preventable "30 K deaths" should go ahead and do an extra 6 months of shelter in place to "flatten the curve" and prevent even one more death that could be stopped. And for those that do, please don't ask for any more handouts during your hibernation or when you emerge as the risk takers and job holders have carried the shelter in place and unemployed by choice crowd about as far as we can stomach. How Many People Die of Cancer Each Year? In 2020, an estimated 606,520 people will die of cancer in the United States. Lung and bronchus cancer is responsible for the most deaths with 135,720 people expected to die from this disease. Just wanted to throw out those numbers to get some perspective. I don't minimize the number of people that will die from the virus but at some point our countermeasures become worse than the disease as the economy / job lossses are going to be devastating. It would be easy to eliminate most of the lung cancer. We would just ban all smoking. Not sure how Trump becomes the root of all this evil. The US death rate for the virus is lower than most of Western Europe which has similar medical access and treatment. If we really want to drive the numbers down the President could have everyone quarantine for another 6 months. I voted for and liked Obama, voted for Hilary (promise for Prison Reform), and think Trump is doing a decent job trying to balance an economic disaster that will effect 330 million people with a couple hundred thousand deaths. Guess the fact that he does't have a magic wand makes him the devil. Mr. Trump has plenty of faults but he has a bias for action and is light years ahead of many presidents that we have endured over the past 50 years.

That's very interesting since the latest info today from Johns Hopkins puts the USA Death toll at just under 114 k. I suppose that Trump hatred of yours is worth another 17 k or so? Not to mention the hospitals labeling every death they can lay their hands on as Covid-19 so that they can get more money from the Feds so we really don't know the true figures although you, the all knowing all seeing one, say it's over 130 k so it must be true, right? Also I seem to recall Fauci downplaying the virus as late as February and the Democrats calling Trump a racist for issuing the travel ban on Jan. 30.
