I see your point but it still boils down to mongers getting the short end of the stick. It's one of the details of the kgirl scene that drives me up the wall. If bookers only reference certain other bookers, you're SOL and in a catch 22 if you aren't already in that particular subset.

Safety comes at the cost of inconvenience.

I've asked some bookers about references and a couple have replied that they only will act as a reference to, or accept a reference from, other bookers that they know. I think some have become more cautious in the past couple of years as a precaution rather than to retain their base. If they don't know a booker, how do they know if that booker does a good job of vetting a client or even if that booker is legit?

Normally, I would just use the last two bookers I've seen girls from as reference. Occasionally, I will run into situations where the prospective booker replies that they don't share references. Apparently there are agencies that aren't on friendly terms with each other. Then I just resort to bookers I've used in the past and see if one works. They ask for two but one "all good" is usually enough to get you cleared.

I imagine that before SESTA / FOSTA, bookers would grudgingly do it out of a collective sense of safety and security. But now that there are limited avenues of public promotion / exposure for the girls, the client pool starts drying up. In turn, IMO, they are refusing to provide reference in order to retain their customer base. No business likes to see customers going to other shops. This situation as a whole sucks for mongers.

I wouldn't call it odd given how they post classified updates round the clock on HX. You probably pre-booked with person A and confirmed with person B or C. Information may not have been passed along correctly.

I've politely asked the SAG booker if I could use her as a reference, and she straight up told me no. I've been a regular there for over 2 years, and probably use them the most of all the K-girl agencies. I was surprised, honestly.

I normally ask the Bookers beforehand to make sure it's all kosher. Regarding sag reference I asked them too, and they asked which Booker I was trying to get into. After telling them, they said no. For me it was on a Booker by Booker basis when it came to sag.
