I served but I sucked at it and both the Army and I were really glad to part company and I get the never ending gyreen / squid thing but I had an Uncle who served for 26 years, retired as an E-9 did three tours in Vietnam, was in Korea at the end, was in Berlin during the airlift, won a bronze star for valor and he used to always say he was retired military and I'm most fucking sure he was never "less than particularly proud" of his service. Not everybody needs to compensate for having a micro penis by letting everybody know they were a fucking gyreen.

Well, that would make you wrong. I'm pretty sure that's not an unusual state of affairs for you, but yeah, I actually retired from the military back in the late 1990's. Here's the thing:

While veterans should be respected, I don't think they need to be glorified. This crazy "patriotic" pressure to "thank" a veteren every time you see one gets on my nerves, and is meant to reinforce some idea that they performed a service for me and I have to endlessly thank them.

This whole thing about "protecting our freedom" in Afghanistan -- are you joking? I'm worried about a lot of shit, but being invaded by Afghanistan ain't one of them.

I'm also not a fan of every business having some "veteran" slant. I'm a disabled vet, and I did my time and I get my benefits. I don't need everyone thanking me for my service or running around with "support our troops" stickers all over their cars. I made a deal with the government and kept up my end. Now they can keep theirs.

Back in the day, we had an intern in our office, a Rawlins college sorority chick, and on weekends, she and her other sorority sisters would often go to the places around the Naval training center. They just went because the squids were nice kids from someplace else, and were willing to buy them drinks. They would dance, talk, maybe make out a little bit, I never asked if she got lucky. A new class of kids every couple months and she didn't have to put up with the Rollins entitled SOB bullshit attitude. Her words, not mine.

B53 nuclear bomb.

The Mk / B53 was a high-yield bunker buster thermonuclear weapon developed by the United States during the Cold War. Deployed on Strategic Air Command bombers, the B53, with a yield of 9 megatons, was the most powerful weapon in the USA Nuclear arsenal after the last B41 nuclear bombs were retired in 1976.

The B53 was the basis of the W-53 warhead carried by the Titan II Missile, which was decommissioned in 1987. Although not in active service for many years before 2010, fifty B53's were retained during that time as part of the "hedge" portion of the Enduring Stockpile until its complete dismantling in 2011. The last B53 was disassembled on 25 October 2011, a year ahead of schedule.

With its retirement, the largest bomb currently in service in the USA Nuclear arsenal is the B83, with a maximum yield of 1. 2 megatons. The B53 was replaced in the bunker-busting role by a variant of the two-stage B61 nuclear bomb.

I know my military very well. My grandpa was in Airforce, gunner on a b53, my step dad Airforce, my other grandpa Army, my biological grandpa was Bundeswehr (if you know what the word means), practily most my family is either military, police or teachers. You can STFU now.

Actually it does. It means I came from for the most part a damn good family and a pretty awesome job raising 4 kids that have never been in trouble a day in their life, not ever detention in school nor a note home from teachers. Actually all my hard work taking them to little league softball paid off and they are legends in the town for softball that got them scholarships as well as my one daughter recieved the presidential scholarship who's attending her education now for forensic pshyshology.
