I'm surprised you were able to use a pre-paid Visa card. I have yet to find any pre-paid credit card (including Amex) that allows international transactions. I contacted SA Cust Service asking if they knew of one and they didn't. What they said was "I'm sorry about that! I do have some more ideas for you if you are unable to find a prepaid gift card. We have Android and iOS apps that you should be able to pay through Google Play / iTunes. Also, there are usually Google Play and iTunes gift cards in most grocery stores that you could load your account with."

Prepaid card bought with cash is the only way to go. Wear a hoodie or cap so your face doesn't get on camera. If the parking lot has cameras, park someplace else and walk in. You can either download an app after logging in, or use their website to generate the number. I use this if I ever sign up for anything I'm worried may be a pain to cancel. If the merchant tries to charge a second time, it's denied. I'm not sure if other card companies have a similar feature, but might be worth looking into.

I've had good luck with privacy.com so far. You can generate burner cards and fund it via ACH. The site is free. They make money via a cut of the credit card processing fee on the merchant side.
