Age wise I'm in the exact same position as you. Mid sixties, look 50+. I had listed my age as 62 on the site but after reading your post I changed it to 55. I had observed them on the sites but they weren't in my usual area. With the bad run of luck I had been having with SB's when I knew I would at least be in striking distance, I kept them in mind. When the SB no-shows materialized, I called and it was easy to make the appointment. The hardest thing was for me to get over my reluctance to get a room in my name. Once I had crossed the Rubicon the first time, the second was easy.

I had set up the trips to meet with SB's in their area and I did not want the trips to go to waste (see previous comments on warden restrictions.) I'm probably more sensitive to the no-show issue because of my travel situation. Not the 5 hour drive that Spitfire made but at least 2. There are some SB's in my local area but I don't want the risk of running into them at the mall afterward. There's one local one who messages me about every five days but I continue to ignore her. I'm with you on the no-show issue. My travel situation is similar. The 5 hour drive I made over the weekend is unusual. I had 2 meetings lined up, but they were in opposite directions. The first one I had to drive 2 hours one way, then the next day turn around and drive the opposite direction. So it made it much longer than it would normally be.
