My question to this group is, if you are not using your real number, are you using a burner phone? I think there's also a way to sign up for another number your phone, but not sure how that works.

I don't share my real number. And if a pro requires it I move on. Because it is a slippery slope I have gotten one of those fake cartel messages and voicemails to my app number. They couldn't find anything on me because the number is fake but they said I owe a scort money for wasting her time and we can settle it one of two ways. I ignored them and moved on with my life.

I do both -- last years phone (iPhone 15 pro max) gets moved over to being a play phone every year.

I have a prepay eSIM / plan in it ATM. I also have had the same Google Voice number for 15+ years.

You absolutely, can do "dual sim" if your phone supports it if you want to keep one device. I like to keep things seperate.

The phone I cross international borders with has zero mention of any playtime.
