This isn't an argumentative post, only responding here because it doesn't seem like an appropriate topic to clutter up the review thread talking about, but this is an interesting topic to ponder (and there isn't really a thread for discussing random topics like this). Hopefully this isn't too philosophical for this forum, but I've struggled myself sometimes with the ethics and morality of the whole game. I never really considered myself a "hobbyist", although maybe it's just semantics. I certainly saw plenty of different providers over the years and posted reports about them here. It was never something that I wore as a badge of pride or anything, and my posts were just meant to inform, not to be the amateur literotica that some guys like to write. In any case I saw plenty of providers, and while I maybe wasn't as aware of it at the time, I'm sure almost all of them were dealing with some kind of demons or at the very least in some sort of dire circumstances that led to them choosing this line of work. I won't lie, it's happened more than once that after a particular session, or after learning some news about a provider I had seen in the past, I found myself doing some soul searching. I generally try to be a good person, one who makes an effort to do the right thing to the best of my ability. I don't like to take advantage of people. And yet here I find myself frequently engaging in paying women for sex who are probably desperate for the cash, for one reason or another. Of course it's more nuanced than that. It's not like I sought out desperate women and convinced them to do this. I just responded to an ad on the internet. And I can always tell myself that if they're not seeing me, they're just going to be seeing someone else. And at least I can do my best to treat them with respect, which some of the others guys they might see would NOT do. Still. It's a bit of a moral quandary at times, isn't it? My "hobbying" habits have changed drastically from what they were years ago, and part of the reason for that was the experiences that caused me to have these thoughts (as well as the realization that the majority of the experiences I was having were very unfulfilling, so I increasingly just found myself wanting to repeat experiences that were enjoyable instead of constantly rolling the dice on new ones).

I've never seen Ashley, but I can definitely relate to what you said. Much respect to any provider who's able to keep it up long-term and still put the effort into trying to give their clients a great experience. I don't know that I'd be able to do the same in their shoes.

We are all going through this stream of time, and each one of us are in different places in our lives, and this is not static but dynamic for most of us. For some it may well be more static-the providers who are caught in a rut. It is important to treat those folks with even more care. Even though we participate in the "world's oldest transaction" we can do it respectfully and with kindness, be prepared to deflect the occasional nastiness of the business with a shrug, and move on.
