Would you mind sharing some local NOVA / DC area hotels that allow same day cancellation till 6 pm?

Just go to Hotels.com, Booking.com or Hoteltonight.com as someone else suggested, right when you are selecting you room, it will state the terms or click on the link to see the terms. It various from town to town, even same hotel in same town will have variability on cancellation charges depending on how fully booked they are that evening.

I never pay for a room until I have the girl in my car with me, ie. I pick her up, or I see her in person in the hotel parking lot. I will book a room that allows cancellations without losing a deposit, there are some that allow you cancel day of until 6 pm without penalty. I find that Booking.com consistently gives me the best prices for the same type of room in the same exact hotel on the same day / time.
