I'd say the overwhelming majority of them are living hand to mouth. I haven't been doing this very long, but the amount of providers that need to pay a bill for their room, their phone, something that day is high. They live day to day. Many have no idea where they're going to be next week, let alone two years. That being said, there's some that have their shit together and seem to have plans in their life that extend beyond next week.

Don't waste your time with this one. Asks for $$ before. She'll give you a real address that's close to you and then when you get there, she'll ask for you to pay the donation before she gives you the apt number. Doesn't take cash so obviously a scam. This has sure been my experience. If you pay in advance, you probably will never see them professionally again. There is something profoundly missing in their synoptic interchanges that can not conceive of providing any service without payment at the time, irregardless of how much you have paid in advance for it. Even if they have solemnly sworn they would honor the arrangement. This blind spot is one of the greatest mysteries of their profession. I have seen this in providers that I have had a stable and mutually satisfying professional relationship for 5 to 12 years. Somehow they do not see the value they are loosing by not seeing a client twice a month for a monthly total of $400 times 12 months in a year in exchange for not providing a prepaid service. Hate to be the killjoy but almost every time I do that I never see them again.

It's almost as if they can't stand giving a "freebie" even if it was already prepaid for.
