I have been using that site for many many years. Its a great resource. Scammers often steal photos and post them as well. If your buying any goods off the shady facebook marketplace or CL or any other website, just save the image and pop it into Tineye and see if there are any results. I also put in the supposed address of their location and see what comes up. Often they will have some location that looks nothing like in the photos of what they are trying to sell you as a scam.
One rule. Never send cash, Only meet in person and give cash in person. Follow this rule and you will be safe most of the time. It is a bit like Vegas, You have to accept a risk of a loss every now and then Just cut bait and run. But it will lessen the chance of you getting scammed. Never give the girl money to go to the front desk to get a room either, they have all the exits pre planned and are gone out of sight in seconds.
