Posts: 1209I'm not reading all that. You have no basis to assert that the other board captures any determinable amount of hobbyists in the area and that's where I stopped because they're is no evidence for that. It's a blind guess for convenience and nothing more.
This isn't productive, said my piece and I'm done. No hard feelings but no wish to continue this.

Posts: 39Seems like a lot here disagree with my methodology. To be fair to me, its not my "anecdotes" or "pulling numbers out of the air", I literally queried the other boards entire database and got an exact number. This isn't something I "guessed" or pulled out my ass. The other board is known to be extremely popular in the seattle-metro area. Most mongers I know (including people who are infrequent mongers who sugar baby and see non-pros, or people that visit AMPs, and even the casual monger that has maybe seen a SW a select few occasions) have probably perused the other board listings at least once in their lifetimes. And since the other board *requires* an account to even see the ads, anyone who's looked at the listings HAS to setup an account, even if its a one-time burner. So I think its a very reasonable assumption that the otherboard captures a decent approximate size of the total monger population in the seattle-metro area (bellevue, kirkland, tacoma, etc.). Obviously, it will not be the full population of mongers, but I asked a few of my friends who monger IRL, if they've ever been on the other board, and 5 out of 5 replied the affirmative. And before anyone criticizes this sample size and says "oh but but but, that's just personal anecdotes, and your just taking a small sample size" Well no shit, obviously its personal sample, its not like I can ask 4. 1 million people on this, but this methodology is how pollsters and statisticians do real world studies, you take a small sample size and extrapolate. There's nothing "garbage" about it, the reasoning and logic is sound. So based off this fact, I'm assuming the otherboard does indeed capture a significant chunk of the entire demand side of the seattle-metro market. I went ahead and generously added in an extra 50% or about 100 k of potential mongers who have never used the other board, and only used websites like STG or LC. Dividing this total by the approximate 2 million men in the seattle metro area comes out to 17%. And coincidentally if you query in Google "percentage of men who have seen sex workers in their lifetime in the USA", the answer lines up with my findings which is "Studies show that between 10% and 20% of American men have paid for sex in their lifetime. " So I'm not saying my 17% is pinpoint accurate, but I am saying that the 10% - 20% figure DOES indeed seem to be within range and reasonable. On the low end its 8% (only using the 260000 from the other board) - 10%, and on the generous high end, it can reach up to 20%. So yes, you're gaslighting yourself if you *don't* think we're in the minority of men that do this (and this includes the secretive married monger that infrequently partakes once a year). We're still in the minority. And believe me, I don't have a personal agenda here, I wish we had more men on our side cause then it wouldn't be so easy for these feminists and their puritan simp beta male lackeys to crack down on us. In countries like South Korea, mongering is normalized and I've heard over 50% of korean males have seen SWs. It might have something to do with the mandatory military service there, most young dudes as a right of passage visit a SW when they join their unit. I know that was the case for me, I was a young 19 year old USMC infantryman when I first visited an AMP.

Posts: 42How does this come up?
You say 2/3 in your friend group has. How does this conversation even come up? If you asked my friend group, they would say I'm super straight-laced, yeah I like to party and drink a bit too much but that's it. They have no idea I'm whoring around at least 2 times a week. And I have no idea about their proclivities.

Sorry, that's just the way numbers work.

Posts: 1209Yup, precisely. Others have show a few, small samples from a very limited number of sources. You are dealing with a topic that involves social judgement and possible legal consequences so getting real activity numbers will be heavily skewed. You are not accounting for all the ways someone might engage in this hobby and there are a lot of other variables not being considered. So on and so on.

I know that among my friend group I know for a fact that at least 2/3 of them have, at least at some point, engaged in mongering. I'm assuming some of the others just haven't admitted it and many that have have stopped. Does that mean 2/3 of all men have paid for pussy at some point? Nope, not at all. It's too small a sample.
MakerMusktf's post just pulled numbers out of the air and attempted to run some calculations and concluded that we are a "vulnerable minority that's easy to gang up on". Sorry man but garbage in garbage out. You're leaping to conclusions based on nothing and using bias in place of data.

The problem with estimates like that is that they can sound so very plausible. Basically you are taking some numbers that are well-reasoned guesses and multiplying them together. And what happens when you do that is that even small changes in the initial guesses can produce very large, often ludicrous, changes in the final results.
A couple of parting thoughts:
1. This is one of those things where nobody admits to actually doing it in public. Kind of like jacking off when you were in high school.
2. The vast majority of guys doing this activity never visit any website or forum on this topic. I'm guessing that less than ten percent do but that is just a guess. But also based on the observation that a number of friends over the years asked me about mongering and none of them had ever visited any of those websites even if they knew of their existence.
3. I think a lot more guys are doing this now than were twenty five years ago. Probably by a factor of five or ten. Three reasons: there are an insanely large number of massage parlors compared to years past; prices sometimes seem absurdly and consistently high (especially for indy escorts); and population changes, mainly a lot of younger guys who can't seem to get laid in the dating world (again for a lot of complicated and fucked up reasons).

True, but I would like to add that on the other board, the 260000 total users covers both frequent hobbyists and the one time prostitute-fucker that signs up for 3 months and never does again after a few times. And while I would say most professional and amateur mongers have signed up at least one account on the other board, lets just for hypothetical purposes. We add another 100,000 potential mongers in the seattle metro area (seattle, bellevue, tacoma, kirkland, etc) who don't have an account on the other board. So COMPLETE total of both infrequent and frequent prostitute-fuckers on the highend is 360000 out of a population of 4. 1 million. So in the best case scenario like this, that would equate to about 8% of the seattle-metro population (total pop including females) are prostitute-fuckers. Cut out the total pop in half to remove females. 360000 out of about 2. 05 million males = 17% of Seattle-metro males are prostitute-fuckers. So while 17% is a bit higher, that's still astonishingly low and makes us a vulnerable minority that's easy to gang up on. That means if we took a group of 10 guys, only 2 of us would be hooker-fuckers, and the remaining 8 would be the simps that would gang up on us 8 vs 2 and call us "sexual exploiters". We need to beef our numbers up. We're at war here gents. I'm hoping as more modern women become delusional and extremely picky, it will eventually radicalize enough men to stop being simps and fully give up dating, so they can start coming over to our side to bang hookers. Also more clients and increase on demand side, should theoretically be matched by an increase in supply side as well. One thing I'm also worried about is if economy goes into the shitter, we lose a bunch of prostitute-fuckers from the demand side (demand destruction), and then a lot of the supply and woman will exit the sex work industry because there's not as much money to be made. So we're in a delicate economic balance here.

To be fair, I'd bet that the vast majority of mongers never have a membership or login on any online site catering to their perversions.
It kind of depends on definitions too. The vast majority of ho-fuckers probably only indulge themselves a few times a year, at most. And on this site we have a lot of dudes going to town several times a week. So we are all kind of outliers here.

I agree, that number needs to go way up. Pretty sure most guys don't know what they're missing. Ho's need to adapt the business practice of giving up the first pussy for free or at least a BJ. That tactic works great for drug dealers, but most hookers aren't that smart.

Posts: 39To be fair, its not the City of seattle.
To be fair, most of the AMP closures and sex work crackdowns are not in cities like Seattle, its in places like Kirkland, Bothell, or counties like Pierce, etc. Where they all have their own local mayors and governments. I have yet to hear of City of Seattle closing down AMPs en masse. Also on another point, it would really help the push for legalization and decriminalization of sex work if we had more johns and prostitute-fuckers like us. I tried asking Grok how many sex buyers were in the US population, and it came back with a pathetically low number of 4%. We are literally an underrepresented minority. I was initially skeptical of this number, I figured their has to be more people paying for hookers, especially given how demanding modern woman are (must be 6 ft, must make millions, etc.). But I went to the other board, and clicked / searched on "members" with no search query, and it returned back 2600 pages of all the registered clients of the website. Each page lists 100 user profiles. So since the other board is used by pretty much most mongers of the seattle metro area, that's about 260000 total prostitute fuckers. Divide 260000 by the total pop of 4. 1 million in the seattle metro area (bellevue, seattle, tacoma, etc.) - and you get almost exactly 4%. So the numbers is indeed accurate, if you take 100 males of the street, on average only 4 will be prostitute-fuckers. This is not a good thing guys. We are too underrepresented which is why local governments can crackdown on us because we don't have the numbers or critical mass to push back.

LE enforces what the Seattle area has voted for. The governor, mayor and police chief all do selective enforcement of the laws "THEY" decide to enforce and ignore all others.

That is why Seattle has had mass numbers of police resign or retire and why Seattle has problems recruiting replacements.
This is a problem all across the left coast.
