Oil pulling is an old (very old) school method of oral hygiene. Any edible oil can be used, such as coconut or olive oil. What I read is that the oil is "pulled" between the teeth by a sucking / swishing action for about 20 minutes. It is then spit out and not swallowed because it collects bacteria from the teeth. Good to know but it's better and probably cheaper to use a "modern" antiseptic mouthwash.

I suspect, for the ones clearly on candy, it's weird OCD probably as a result.
