I'm new to the bowl stuff, and just signed up for seeking a week ago. Either I'm ugly as hell or just have zero game because I am struggling hard even after a week. I've messaged about 40 girls, most of which are either online frequently or girls from info posted on this board. I'm struggling to even get a reply. Out of those 40 girls, like 10 viewed my profile and either never opened my intro message or left it on read. The couple of responses I've gotten were a couple girls responding with "hey" and never replying to my message after that, and one girl saying she only does virtual. Sent them a follow up message, no reply either.

I'm not fat and I can't imagine that face wise I'm ugly enough to where a girl on here can't imagine herself fucking me for money LOL. I need privacy so I the only pic I have posted is a clear selfie of my face, but after a while I made the picture private because I came across a girl I know IRL and I don't need that drama. I have a simple one liner for me "about me", and in my "looking for" section I have a simple message that should imply what I'm here for (but not outright saying I want to fuck) so it's not an empty profile. I also set my join date to be hidden so it doesn't look like I'm a scammer.

For my intro message, I've just been trying to be direct without treating them like a prostitute, by saying something along the lines of "Hey, I like your profile and I'd love to chat more about what you're looking for. If you're interested let me know." I've also just tried saying "Hi there / Hey". Even tried a few times to be super direct and leaving my number at the end of the intro message. I'm messaging some of the same girls as everyone else here and yet my response and open rate is abysmal. I have yet to have an actual conversation on Seeking.

Is my intro message trash? Is only having one selfie up turning girls away from me (I'm confused on this one because it seems like most guys don't even upload pics?)

I've messaged most of the girls in the DMV that are active and that I think are hot enough (without messaging the ones who look like models or out of my price range I stay in my lane with those). I'm desperate and any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

A few thoughts:

It's not as much you vs the DMV pool. The attractive women are very much the minority of profiles. Then they get all the messages.

Add to your bio. Play around with it. Make yourself seem easy to chat with. Share an interest.

Try different pictures. I keep my few pictures hidden. What I have shows enough of my face to gauge attractiveness. Then a full body one in business casual attire.

Message women when they're online.

Play the long game. I get women responding to messages weeks or more after sending. They should have an Out of Office response "fucking 3 other dudes atm. Will respond when my roster dries up. ".

Never seem desperate. Do this by matching or only slightly outdoing their level of engagement. So many women give 3 word messages that make it hard to get a convo going. That's just part of it.

A ton of these women use the word "intentional" in what they want a man to be. We can't say I intend to fuck you though. I'm never sexual in early messaging. The risk is my messages are boring or too generic. I just try to be authentic. But that opening message is key so try different things.

Last, and I'm not ashamed to admit this, but I've messaged plenty of women more than once when they didn't respond. And finally gotten a response. Wait a week or more but that's an option.

This is my approach I don't put any profile pics what so ever there all hidden.

I got 3 hidden pics there the typical selfie pic in the bathroom showing my face and body of course all dress (try and dress nice like its Friday at your work).

I just message them and say "hi hows your day going" and give them access to my pics.

If they respond I just say " you got time this week to meet up this week? If so let me get your number".

If they give me there number I message them and setup a date to meet right away.

This approach has worked well for me.

For my profile about me I just put my hobbies golf, sking something like that.

For what I'm looking for I just put meeting new people and having mutual fun times something like that.

In my limited experience most want to meet up right away.

Some of these girls will probably never respond to you cause there inbox is flooded and some maybe busy too meeting other doods.

Also seasonality too you know valentines day, summer vacations all that stuff.

I am pretty new myself to this.

I'm ok looking 20 lbs over weight 50 but most tell me I look younger so I'm sure you can do well yourself (I am far from a chad).

I've found through bits of conversation on there that "hiding" your join date does nothing. Maybe others have found that to be different.

As for the rest, this shit is more like "vanilla" dating than some would make it seem. It's a hybrid where these women have the same selectivity as a dating app and they're doing their best to not feel like full blown escorts. Because of that, game, looks, and being faster than the other motherfuckers on here to the newbies all matter to a varying degree. The ones that will meet you without viewing your profile, are quick to go to text, and don't require much conversation are all those who have given up the pretense and are instead trying to optimize how much money they can make, so they don't care if you are X times their age and / or attractive and / or have any conversational skills. They're only going to be around long enough to say hi, walk to the bed, pretend to enjoy what you're doing to them, and then leave.
