I'm going to step back and thank you for your original post. I've posted about some of the dumb shit I've done and took the hits accordingly. I haven't always been good with this myself. At the end of the day we all just need to know who to watch out for even if you've allowed yourself to get dragged along. +1 on the cameras. I have read FAR too many legit reviews on this topic. Personally I prefer to pay a little extra and get my privacy. I wouldn't hobby in one and I definitely would never take my family to live in one regardless of how expensive a hotel in that same city would be. I used to save a lot by using AirBnB in downtown Victoria. It was WAAY better than a hotel in the summer. But just not worth it anymore. There are cameras in every room (believe it or not).

I fall in the camp of those having their location tracked, and visiting a house or apartment looks far less sketchy than a normal hotel in the middle of the day. However a quick google and Reddit search seems to show that since 2022 Airbnb has turned very strict and actively seeks to ban SW'ers and those who they think are guilty by association. Plus there's the whole "personal" aspect of the owner / manager knowing who you are, and you never know what cameras they have. Anyone had good experiences? Bad? Best practices?
