Yes safety is important. Personally I have never felt as though I'm being watched and I haven't seen any suspicious activity, like golf carts. I've never seen them, I've gone during the day and evenings. In case you guys haven't noticed it's a quiet area. Not many people walking around. As for the code it's different each time I go and sometimes the gate is open so no need to punch in anything.
