To know them, you must know China and the country is very very diverse. The culture is nothing like America. Their stories vary more than you would expect. A woman from a privileged family will be different than one from a working class family. China is also very regional.

You probably do not want to know what their lives are like. But it varies too. When they ask if you will be their bf, they are probably serious. And possibly looking to get married asap so they can get a long term green card. Some are here to put their son thru school and buy him a house. Some are here to make a name for themselves.
