The good news is that it's still open. The bad news is that the masseuse did most of the massage through a thin sheet. Since she was new to me, I didn't speak up -- plus I was thinking maybe this is a new requirement for the county or something?

Didn't bother asking for finish. Only did half hour anyway. Helped my aching back a bit, at least, but the atmosphere (culture?) sure has changed since I used to frequent Golden circa 2012-2015.

The lights are still on at Lotus. No idea if it's shut down though.

I called Lotus and was told they have reopened and have all new girls. I asked if Yoyo or Yumi was working and she said they no longer work there. I believe they were forced to make renovations or whatever to get back into HC compliance. Be interesting to know how the service is now. Was pretty open before depending on the girl.

Wellness is still open for the standard HC finish.

I went first weekend over a month ago and it was legit. Reports on another site advised legit only. . I was hoping they would return to the same service level with the HC Finish but I was waiting for confirmation things have gotten back to normal.

Plenty of legit Massage places in that area of Ellicott City I doubt Wellness would survive long with that business model.

The Wellness Foot Spa closed for a remodel. When they opened a few weeks ago it was a new staff and totally legit. Probably new ownership or they were hassled and now trying to go legit.

Both are still open for business despite Hana not having their lights on. I called and mamasan said it was still operating.

You will find similar here in Columbia with the DMV Latinas posting on CL. Usually 100 for the massage, then anywhere between 60 for HJ to another 200 for FS. The one thing I do know is they generally look like the pics they post under on CL.

Looks like it was a clean sweep of the Korean AMPs in Howard County. Was in the Ellicott City area this afternoon and out of curiosity drove by Hana Spa. The lights were off and it was closed. Interestingly, the Chinese run Wellness massage at the end of the building was still in operation. I wonder if the Korean AMP owners could file a class action lawsuit against HC for illegal ethnic targeting? LOL.

Not the end of the world folks. We literally spent all the time complaining about them anyways. Now what are our options?

Venture out! It may seem like a hike but College Park is only about 15-20 minutes from the doorstep of Lotus. There are also the Greenbelt area spas. Now granted it's all pretty cookie cutter and every experience is scripted almost the same. But I've had some at least attempt a decent massage, the women are more attractive on average, and the menu is generally pretty open so you don't have to worry about the "we don't do that here" speech. I will say that I went out to Greenbelt a couple weeks ago and my go to was all booked up for the night and my fall back rushed me in and out because they were so busy. There is also a hidden gem if you are willing to drive: G & S Oxon Hill. It got banned from the forum because of what were to be considered shill reviews but I used to go out there due to having business in the area and my experiences were always on par with everything I read.

I'm not about that escort life so not going to advocate for it. But we all have to admit it would be nice to get ahold of someone who wasn't Asian from time to time. Even if they weren't Korean. I had a Japanese provider once and almost lost my mind. It was a whole different experience.

The point is, the hobby can still be enjoyed but HC is just dried up—for now. I'm willing to bet someone eventually is willing to pay a big enough bribe for a starved market at some point in the future.

There is a place I have stopped in off Wilkens Ave (Baltimore massage thread), not far from I95/695, that has been decent. The downer is that they don't have a TS, so it's paper towels and alcohol spray. My general experiences have been good, but the paper towel thing is kind of a no-go, for me.

Cheack the thread, make your own informed decisions.

I've read about that place in the other thread. Place might be a little too hot given the circumstances but the reviews have been stellar. I will say stellar reviews often (but not always) lead to disappointment from me expecting way too much.

Maybe I'll try them some day but they got to cool off first.

I agree that was likely the case. The county was making it very difficult for them to renew their business licenses. Wouldn't be surprised if the county created new codes targeted to shut them down or threatened them with an investigation into backgrounds and immigration status. Scare tactics to voluntarily shutdown. I know several girls that were very concerned of being deported if they were arrested or caught up in anything illegal. An unjust concern for most Korean girls but a good scare tactic. I lived in the HC Columbia area for about 8 years in the late 90's early 2000's and really grew to hate the area.
