No law has ever been passed in the name of safety. Politicians only do whatever their lobbyist masters tell them to do and these miserable and bitter old crows at Reset180 just couldn't stand men having a good time.

Fairfax City is an independent city, as are Alexandria and Falls Church. So the Fairfax County massage ordinance won't apply there. Don't be surprised if the do-gooder pressure groups target them next, along with surrounding counties, now that they've succeeded in imposing their will on the DC area's most populous jurisdiction. Herndon and Vienna are towns located within Fairfax County, so the ordinance might apply to them. I'm not a lawyer, nor do I play one on TV. I hope any mongers who are lawyers can provide clarification.

I'm hoping Fairfax County doesn't become as dead as Montgomery County across the Potomac. Montgomery used to be hopping with American, Asian, and Eastern European MP's about 25 years ago until some do-gooder reporter on one of the local TV stations reported on the hobby, prompting Montgomery County to enact an ordinance that basically shut everything down. The only reliable source of HJ's nowadays in Montgomery County is an overweight Ukrainian GILF who's pushing 60 if not already there. She's been previously discussed in this forum.

That leaves the Pine Tree, Angel, and Garden triad untouched.

Agree, we consumers of such services have no idea yet. I suspect many will relocate to surrounding counties as their property leases expire. Probably maybe the Ffx County nimbys happy, but just pushes the perceived "problem" to some other County / City, not really solving anything. We KNOW there's no practical way to completely eliminate happy ending MP's.

That said, I will note that a County ordinance like this may or may not apply within Town of Vienna or Town of Herndon (do the Town's issue establishment permits, or the County? I'm pretty sure it's irrelevant within the City of Fairfax. TBH I've not personally paid close enough attention to posted permits in city or town or county spas to know for sure if the City issues permits, I would assume so since cities by state law are separate taxing authorities from their county while towns are not?

Been meaning to come here for quite some time due to the reports of older providers. Called ahead and got Bibi. I'd say agree she's probably early 50's, fit body with B's and cute kinda of flat butt. Yeah, its really unclear how this law applies to different circumstances. The new ordinance says "Massage establishments shall maintain main or primary entrance doors open to the public and unlocked during regular business hours. No main or primary entrance doors shall be equipped with any remotely controlled locked device. Entry shall not be controlled with a camera, intercom, and / or doorbell entry system. ".

What is a primary entrance door? If you get into a waiting area and there is no one there, a locked door, and a doorbell to summon someone up front, does that violate the ordinance? The main entrance was open, the back rooms are locked.

Also, what does non-locked doors achieve? Can law enforcement just walk in and start opening doors to massage rooms? Is there a reasonable expectation of privacy for customers?

Of course this is going to have a chilling effect, but how it all shakes out remains to be seen.
