I looked at the rack at my local grocery. There are indeed Visa Vanilla cards, but I am skeptical they involve zip codes. There is also SecureSpend, which everyone used to discuss. It kinda replaced the OneVanilla product (looks the same, named differently). The packaging on these cards does say for online purchases. I have some old SS cards. I got on the site, the value I had recorded is still there, but there is no way to input a zip code.

The message I got from both Amex and the std check customer service is that the 'bank' declined to approve the charge based on it being unwilling to verify the zip code (that I entered). Maybe that is how it works. If an issuer will give the green light to any zip code we pick, then that card is good for online purchases.

I got a SecureSpend card. It also failed, for the same reason. I spent time on the phone w / CS, first with SS, and then w / Analyte Health. The former told me that they note at this time, Analyte Health does not accept prepaid gift cards. The latter told me that they would accept them provided the prepaid card was registered w / a valid address. Obviously, I could put in a valid address for someone else, so the latter would not compromise me. I do need to find a prepaid card, though, that permits you to add the full address to it (but it is possible that only the zip code is actually verified between merchant and issuer).

Yep, always a good idea to have two accounts, so the standby (blank profile) can take over when the 1st gets blasted.

It's also helpful to help determine if profiles that disappeared blocked you or their account is actually gone.

If you know how to use VMWare or any other Virtual Machine software (it's not that hard), you can run a separate VM for each profile.

Why is that useful? What is the advantage of using a VM? If there is an advantage, wouldn't a VPN accomplish the same thing?
