I have done this, and to make it work you need to be a known good customer and set it up in advance, preferably the evening before.

If you show up at 6 am and ring the doorbell they won't answer even if they are already there. Which they often are.

It would be Westin more places adopted the "booking name" or "booking text" strategy where you had to show them the text message with the appointment to get in.
