Genuinely no idea until I looked for an answer on Reddit. Bunch of people went through the same thing as me and the posts that I've read stated it was just an exortion scam to see if you would pay. If you did, they bad more information and would continue to steal money from you, but if you either ignored or fought back, they left you alone. I never gave out my name or any other personal info to any escort so they likely had software to look me up.
