I would definitely make an appointment. Arrive early or on time. When you make an appointment, I ask who is working. I will not make an appointment for the reasons just given, that being that if someone is there they will take care of them first whether you have an appointment or not. As was mentioned sometimes you get unlucky and have to wait a bit, but in my experience, you usually don't have to wait long. I don't like following a schedule, so I just show up. Seems that appointments do seem to work for some. Do what you find works best for you.
