LLD is the first time I recall that someone actually admitted they posted a fake review. Because (he says) he had an onrush of guilty conscience. No one else EVER owns it, when they report something misleading or tell an outright lie. So if you want to start banning people, but you only ban those who self report, you end up banning the more honest ones and those who don't admit there dishonesty continue unabated. So while agree with you in principal, the action you propose would have the opposite affect of that which you desire, in terms of improving the overall accuracy of the reports here. He lied, he apologized, it's over I would bet a substantial amount of money that if he had said the he didn't get any action, but suspected he could you would have still beat a path to the Shine door, because of the prospect of being the lucky guy who go something no one else does. Because she is young, pretty and innocent. Isn't it funny the "sins' we choose to condemn, based on how they affect our pocketbook?

I'm in agreement that he shouldn't be banned and have a chance to make amends. As Monsignor stated, he came clean and owned up. I was only pissed that he admitted throwing bait out there for others to bite. And it did, with hungry mongers going to test the waters.

Well its hard for me to object to the criticism I've received. So I'll accept it, and deal with the fall out.

I would offer this though. There is a considerable amount of this type of thing that occurs on this site, and I say this with high confidence. I had my reasons for doing it. I completely agree. A solid portion of the reviews on here are definitely hyped up and half the shit said doesn't happen. Everything is with a grain of salt until you go there yourself.

If you want credibility, then hit a spot that nobody mentions (usually because it's easy to add onto somebody else that's already reviewed the place multiple times) and let one of us that have frequent flyer miles test the waters. There's a few people that frequent about once a week. Give them the info in a DM if you prefer, and gain credibility back.

I've not been on the site long, have been doing this for years though, and some of these guys were ruthless when I first started posting (because I have different code names for places, "Tamale" or "Bean") by sending me DM's and spotlighting. I couldn't care less in all honesty, but I am always as honest as I can be, even behind a keyboard, so that other people don't fall trap to some of the shit I have visited in the past like bait and switches, crappy service, rip-offs etc.

That seems a little harsh. I lied, then admitted it. I tried to fix a mistake that I made.

I'll make everyone on here a deal: If you will also agree to explicitly calling for a ban by username, everyone who gave a review which we all believed, only to find out the review was either wildly exaggerated, or completely made up. I'll voluntarily stay off the forum for 1 year. (subject of course to not being completely banned by the moderator).

The only difference between us, is I'm willing to own the lie I told and try to fix it.
