I am sure there are some guys who offer crazy amounts, but you have to look at the root of that. And share it w / POTs, to argue against. I think it's important to distinguish between two distinct (but not mutually exclusive) scenarios:

Scenario A) Record high unemployment among recent college grads is causing a lot of hot 20-something white coed's to enter the sugar bowl that would normally not do so. They don't have good information on market rates and current supply / demand so they're setting high prices ($1,000 ppm).

Scenario B) Existing 20-something's are attempting to raise ppm's to higher levels (potentially motivated by sugar influencers).

Unemployment and underemployment is super high among 20-somethings and I think we'll continue to see an increase in first-time entrants to the sugar bowl, particularly from demographics that wouldn't normally be participating (e. G. 20-something college graduates).

Scenario B is always happening, but I don't think it's happening at a higher rate than it has historically. Maybe slightly higher with the rise of social media.

Of course all of this is conjecture since we don't really have reliable data, although I'd love to see some of Seeking's analytics.
