Not the norm, just another scam. The only girls who have asked me for a gift card have given me a location and then told me to send them a picture of the card with the numbers showing on the back of the card. They wanted this before giving me their room number. I've offered to meet in the lobby and give them the card then and they refuse. I insist on only giving the card in person, and have sent pictures of the front of the card w/receipt. They always start giving a sob story about being robbed, beaten up. Etc. This is a total scam.
