Providers need to see clients in order to pay bills, clients don't need to see providers; we want to see them but we don't need to see them. We have the leverage as far as what is acceptable screening, etc. If the majority of us refuse to give up PII, then providers will have no choice but to stop asking for it, or they'll go out of business. The only reason they keep asking for it is because enough guys are still sending it to them.

That's my issue with some of the advice I'm seeing here. Some of it isn't rooted in best practices, it's rooted in some weird need to teach these "broads" a lesson. LOL and that sounds exhausting. I thought the goal was pleasure. If I were young, impressionable, and inexperienced in the hobby, I would find that shit absolutely depressing. I fear you all might be scaring people away with some of this stuff.

This is the proper advice: Assess the risks / costs, do you what you're comfortable with within the parameters of that assessment, and hobby accordingly. Don't let anyone, provider or hobbyist, dictate how you navigate all of this. Only you know your circumstances.

We also "preach" to counter all of the arguments that a provider will make as to why that information should (or must) be given. So, just like mongers have to accept risk, the providers should accept risk as well and recognize that the vast majority of guys are not criminals, serial killers, rapists etc. A similar argument can be made for the demand for a deposit. We all will be "preachy" about that too when you consider that most of them are scams. So with PII, always consider that it's a possibility that you could get something in the mail, or an email to your company, or a phone call on your personal line that you don't want.

Can't agree anymore. Besides, you guys try to use burner phone as much as you can when you arrange an schedule with a provider. I don't know how they steal your number, but once they get it, you might get messages very annoying. You then just can ignore them but who knows they create another way that could be a real threat to your life and career.
