I just looked myself and Dayuse had a few listings, some are major chains. Maybe the law isn't getting much enforcement so some operators are simply ignoring it. Another thought that it's one of those laws that gets selectively enforced when Uncle LEO wants to bust balls, for example with Turnpike dumps.

I think DayUse is more of booking unbooked rooms which is why some days like Fridays don't have availability but have a cheaper rate than a regular reservation. Hotels by Day is another site. The Marriott app allows you to book DayUse as well but I don't see any avail in CT today. Go to special rates menu and select "DAY USE (ZDY)" Hilton app you can use the promo code "OFFICE" and book a room 9 a-5 p. There are a few options avail in CT, but looks like you'd be paying about the same rate as a regular reservation just with the flexibility of earlier checkin.
