The Law itself funds for training and enforcement costs. Most departments will be applying for and receiving funding from Raleigh. Further, a component of my job has me looking at the grant databases. I was really shocked to see at least 30 new available grants pop up in the past two weeks from public and private funding sources for local and county agencies in North Carolina who can apply to receive money for stings. All of these available grants provided more than $30 k per release, and some of them had as many as 15 available releases. This means that it funds 15 separate stings. Basically every phony baloney family values organization in the Carolinas has taken up collections to pay for stings. That money has never been available to these agencies before, and of course they can combine funding sources for bigger operations. The biggest issue, however is the fact that three full HSI Teams are now operating in NC. Even California only has one, with their larger pop and geography. Each one of these has over 100 dedicated federal agents. In most situations they will split the teams into 3 or 4 smaller units that try to set people up in different areas. Those teams were previously aimed at Pimps and Providers, and they are now mostly aimed at Mongers for reverse stings in this state now. Because these are federal ops, they have pre-allocated funding from our Rich Uncle.

This is game-changing information. Wow. WTF. Some Nazi shit going on. Nobody on this forum has ever promoted trafficking or any underage activities. In fact, it's always been 100% in support of going after such activities because of one simple reason: It's not the enjoyment of sex between two consenting adults, it's abuse, etc. This law is so fucking puritanical and insane, it's criminalizing everything adults do together sexually of their own free choice. All you really have to do is look at drug laws that get implemented. They don't stop selling or using and neither will this. Yes, there is more of risk in jail time if caught, however being caught is the key phrase. Sting operations cost a lot of money, especially ones that take place in a hotel. A sting in a hotel can take up to three or four rooms and sometime the entire floor or hallway. This is for many reasons including keeping it quiet and away from normal guests. Also, the government can't force a company to have it's team member take any type of class or to have them participate in a sting operation. The cheap motels may be pressured to cooperate but again, they can't be forced. Police departments do not have the capital to all of a sudden begin conducting stings on a regular basis. Many people are unaware of the police station on Halloway with tons of it happening right across the street.

Again, I'm not saying that there isn't a greater risk in what you can be charged with, just that the police are not going to be putting in much more effort to cause a huge impact. Being smart in your search will go a long way. Now if you are the guy that chases the 18-22 year old providers, then you probably have the most to worry about. These providers are usually younger than they say and that will most likely be a downfall for many. Keep in mind: 1. I hope you're right. However, they are going to be more sophisticated than before. What you have to understand is that Homeland Security has setup shop here. This is not just some fly by night operation. Providers will be incentivized to help LEO. Essentially, you can't put full trust into any provider. Or I'll ask you, how many of them would turn down thousands of dollars to entrap mongers? Not trying to scare anyone, but I respectfully advise you and everyone else to think about the possible ways to get caught up in this. After talking to a provider and seeing how she got caught up, it made me rethink how this all works.

Here is my opinion. Both Raleigh and Durham have bad police shortages. We had a drink driver doing 80 hit a pole and roll over several times in my yard and the neighbors and it took the cops 40 minutes to come.
