Is this a thing and I'm not aware of it. Like is it sport for girls to set dates with guys, keep the conversation alive, and then just flake at the last minute? I feel like this is a thing and I'm just not aware of it. Or do I just really suck at this?

Did you vet these chics? Reverse image searches, video calls, phone calls, M&G, etc. Or was this strictly all through texts and / or emails? Even when vetting properly you can still get flakes occasionally. But three in a row is suspicious. Could be straight up scammers or like you said playing around.
