The big issue is getting into the situation itself. The publicity of getting arrested, mugshot online, and having to explain to a significant other what the hell just happened. That's not an issue if you're single, but you could be placing your job in jeopardy if you earn a decent living.

She is the witness against you, along with the information they obtain in the investigation. In that way, she won't be treated much differently than a rape victim. For a felony charge, they will get her comms. And then they will track the number you used. If you used a burner, the number will come back to the burner app that controls that #. They will subpoena that app and they will receive your apple / google I'd and real phone #. Upon arrest they will take your phone, and if they can unlock it they will search it for evidence. Sure, you may eventually beat these charges in court after hiring a FANTASTIC attorney at great expense to you, but you may have already lost your relationship, job, professional certifications etc. In the past, the investigative hurdle was twofold: 1. The charges for you were misdemeanors. There's only so much investigation they're going to do in this situation. The juice wasn't worth the squeeze. Now your charge is a minimum 4 month in jail FELONY. They're going to go a hell of a lot further to get you. 2. The way it's been, the provider was going to at least face similar charges or more serious charges. The effect of that is she just clams up and the cops have both sides not telling them anything. You walk. (This has happened with me BTW.) Even if the cops said "we want him, not you", the ladies were probably distrustful. Next year, the women will know they CANNOT be charged. They will be HT Victims and be treated as such. They can qualify for victim impact funds. Even drug use will be treated as a coercive condition that pimps and customers use to keep them trafficked. "Help us get these men using you, off the streets, you poor little flower" will be the approach from LEO. There are no deals for us because we're where the big charges come from. Note that much of what I know about how the changes get implemented by LEO comes from my family member who's a detective (Theft, not Vice). We're going to need to be much much more careful going forward (if we continue this hobby) and IMO one of the real risks are with the scammer girls or the false advertising girls that you walk out on. When she follows up with "I'm calling the cops unless you give me _ LEO will still probably get your plate # from the CCTV, for follow-up. Note that 'Soliciting' doesn't require you to complete the act in any way. These women just got a lot more power, and that's something to be mindful of.

Yep. Everyone will have incentive to go against you. Hotel staff, neighbors, passerbys, girls, pimps etc. Anyone trying to stay silent will face charges themselves. Girls will be given the option, did you traffic yourself or did he traffic you?

An escort's testimony wouldn't be super reliable, especially if she's using the testimony to avoid charges. If they DO pursue you over that little, I'd imagine they wouldn't be able to do anything with it unless you say or do something stupid.

Not to minimize the danger from this law! I just expect that we'll see an increase in patrols around SW areas and more funding towards stings. Known girls should continue to be as safe as they currently are (which isn't actually safe if you get me).

Now is the time to find a few good UTRs and stick with them in preparation for the future.

They and the hotel owners are responsible when someone gets caught on their properties. Assuming these girls can even get a room, the staff won't be overlooking anything in the future. I'm curious about what's really going to happen next year. On one hand I can see the women appreciating the new immunity they have. On the other hand, their customer base will get smaller for sure. And they will find having a place to stay difficult at best. For me personally, I'm probably going to end up traveling out of the country more. It's just not worth the life destruction.

They have a paying guest so they may not care. But now they also have an incentive to alert LEO because if it's found out escort activity is taking place at said establishment, then they may be subject to fines, bad press, etc.
