I drove once and had no trouble finding parking just one block west, on Wabash, which is paralllel to Michigan Ave.

It's south michigan so it's not that bad, during the day you shouldn't have to park more than half a block away. I prefer the opposite side of the street during school hours since you get a line of cars picking their kid up from the catholic school on the corner.

I never have any big problems, just avoid going when there's an event at Soldier Field. Street parking is free on Sundays.
