So my other experiences of getting turned away haven't been at AMPs (I'm still new to this, going to Right Spa would've been just my 4th AMP visit ever). As someone who's never been turned down, with the worst I've gotten being initial refusal when I asked for "bang bang" and then eventual agreement after making it clear that is the only service I would pay for (this happened once), it is 90% presentation and 10% location selection.

-Try to get a shower in if you hadn't that morning or the night before.

-Wear something nice. Not saying it has to be formal, I always go in street clothes, but instead of the hoodie, sweats, and vans opt for say the Nike, Gymshark, or any other nice name brand, some jeans / pajama pants, and Air Forces.

-Brush your teeth or at least get some gum in (obviously).

-Don't act jittery or aggressive, just relax and everyone else will too.

-A smile never hurt.

-When it gets down to it do not be rough, unless they ask / want you to.

-Being chatty is always a plus with these ladies.

-Try to cover any large tattoos initially, once they have taken you in there is no chance they will turn you down after they begin and finally notice them.

-Try to avoid VERY popular places, as the more popular, the more likely they have had a bad apple before and that won't help your chances. Stick with low volume to only relatively popular places (on and off days).

This is a compilation of all the general bad things black friends of mine have done while being turned down, and general advice they have given me. I am 5'10, bulky, and have dreads so if these tips have worked so well for me, there is no reason they shouldn't work for you.
