It would be shocking and tragic if true, but not surprising. I knew several people (friends and professionals) who after a long period of not using heroin either through incarceration or rehab, OD'ed after their first use in a long time. It's because during that long period of being sober, their tolerance level went down, and they made the mistake of using the usual level they were use to doing, which proved to be fatal.

Hope was filling it pretty good until she just up and headed back North. Maybe it's just a visit and we will be lucky enough and she will return. Have not checked out Kori yet but appears to be fun. LOL no. It's not even like that. Nobody needs any sympathy. What's done is done. Life goes on. Maybe a decent provider will show up on the scene at some point until then just have to wait. Upside I guess is the bank account is happy LOL.

Going to try hard here to be sensitive to the fact that some of you lost someone who yoy enjoyed time with and maybe even cared about. But you should start a support group thread here or something. An obit is general statement which typically written by a family member and basic person died and survived by XYZ.

My reference is celebrating of life put together by the family and on funeral home site. These typically show the family member at different stages of their lives, what was good about them and what they loved through pictures and video. Hollie B aka savvy in Bradenton family put up a very nice one. She like Astrid was a worker and an addict but her family overlooked that part of her life to celebrate and appreciate the good.

Astrid certainly had many good things in her life her personality which could have been a nice testament. I will always remember the good about her and the time we spent. The other stuff is an undertone from some bad choices she made in life but in my opinion didn't define her. The family chose not to do anything like that for whatever reasons they may have had so you have to respect that.

Today marks 3 months since the tragedy. I left her around 2 am and never imagined that's the last time I would see her. I spoke to her at 11:00 am that day and never imagined it would be the last time I would hear her voice. I almost stayed the night which I wish I had done. I was going to go back down that night but got word of the tragedy a few hours before I was going to leave. At approx. 4:22 pm her time om earth ended. It's still hard to believe and accept. She w be loved and remembered by many of us through the end of days. May she rip.

On a different note I have not seen anyone since. I reached out to Nadia as I have always wanted to see her (from back when she was w Megan). But was never able to connect. I checked w her this week and she actually responded for once but wants a selfie she can save in her contacts. Who the hell would do that? I may still try if we can work around that. I missed her in her prime but would be nice to at least meet her once.

It was Feb 3rd when she passed. Amber texted and called me that she called 911 at 5:37.

The EMT's worked on her for a long time and she called me back at 6:30 telling me she was gone. They couldn't revive her.

There is no Obit at the request of her family. There wasn't any viewing and a direct burial at the cemetary from what I was told. I am sure her family wanted everything private because of her lifestyle. I'm sure they didn't want to run into any of us or her addict friends.

That's understandable her family wanted to keep her arrangements private. We got to respect their privacy. I said my goodbyes to her my own way. I went to one of the bridges on the Old Tampa Bay and threw a bouquet of flowers into ocean after a moment of silence.
