In everyday speech, some people use it because they THINK it adds weight to whatever they say (which is sometimes true.). And some people do it because they are overcompensating for other shortcomings.

Have you been to party city? They've got a lot of cool stuff for all kinds of parties. If you're looking for something a little more flashy, I'd recommend fireworks. I'd probably make the drive to Indiana for that myself. They have better stuff.
