While probably not a major issue, I think overusing DoxyPEP can develop some resistance if abused over time. I remember reading something of that nature in an article about the medication. I am unsure of the logistics but as someone who also uses DoxyPEP I came up with the idea of seeing 1 provider within a 72 hour period just to be able to use 1 dose of the medication.
