We all just need a set range in your head that you're comfortable with on tips. Don't just throw out numbers. Usually a valid reason and staying firm is enough. I personally don't mind giving a fat tip if it's fair and justified.

Many places want +$200. Only a few are worth it. In the past I was a noob and coughed up more than I should have more than a few times. Now when I monger, I ask for a line up. Whatever the house is, if I see what I like, I hand them $140-160. They'll make a fuss, try to negotiate, and squeeze you. It's take it or leave it. Been meaning to visit Camel Spa and came around today. Saw LE camped in the parking lot in the spots closest to spa. Could been on their break but for those familiar with the plaza not much other business.
