I believe you hit the nail on the head. Unless the person with the appointment has a very established and generous relationship, I doubt they would turn someone down that is standing there in front of them. Calling the spa and requesting a specific provider as an anonymous rando will rarely work out in your favor. Get a personal / direct point of contact for a provider you like. Book your time with her directly. It will work out most times, even at a high volume spa. Just be sure to make your appointment so to not burn that bridge.
