First let me say I've been doing this for over twenty years. I started in the DC area and have traveled a bit, and have been here for about 10 years. When I started, the hour rate was $60-$70 with table shower - that's all to the house, the girls get none of that. Everywhere I have been, expected tip for HJ has been $80, with more for more. If I only tip $40 as you gentlemen do, it is for BAD service and / or no HE. Hell, the girl who cuts my hair gets an $8 tip on a $12 haircut. Do the math. It's no wonder this area is as dried up as it is, with women older than me. I wouldn't want to go to St Louis if I were a hot young chick either.

In the vast majority of locations here, the masseuse receives a base part of house's money. You're referring to jack shacks where they don't receive house money since they already make insane bank from tips.

Using your arbitrary tipping logic, why stop at 40 or 80 tip for a lousy massage? Why not tip 100? 200? Fuck, just throw them a blank check!

STL dried up for a couple reasons. First, there was one or two big busts that made news (sheng) which made everyone slow down (I guarantee that there were no tipping issues at that location during its peak). Things never fully recovered from that. Second, there's a growing trend over the past few years for a lackluster massage while aggressively pushing for a delusional tip. Shitty massage and DIY for an expectation of a $40 tip? Lmao, fuck off, bye. Because of that, many locations are getting less clientele and are pumping up their prices in hopes it will make up for the slower business (it won't). It's a cycle that will eventually put them out of business or force them to improve their services or lower their prices (they won't).

High tipping for a shitty massage incentivizes the very same massage experience that you are trying to avoid. If I tip a waiter 60% even though he sucks at his job, it's not going to make him a better waiter; it's going to make him believe he did a great job. The guys who tip $40 for an awful massage are the reason why still is so bad. They are rewarding bad behavior.

DC is more expensive because it's big on jack shacks since money flows there like piss. Even at its best, STL is absolutely nothing like the DC market. It never will be. But STL can still be good if we can rid ourselves of unnecessary simping over lazy masseuses and awful service.

I see a lot of posts that either severely misunderstand basic market dynamics, or the OP is likely associated with the locations they are shilling and trying to pump their business (yes that happens).

After several years of Chippewa / Watson Jasmine been backrub only, I am enjoy that more fun can be had. Since before COVID I have been 60 house / 60 tip, if I get a HJ. I was told to bring 100 for a tip next time on one visit. I brought 100. Got the same HJ I normally get and tipped 60. I got the feeling one lady was willing to offer more. If is get more, I will let you know.

The standard tip was $40 ten years ago. Prices raise. Things cost more, especially now thanks to Bidenomics. I tip $30 or $40 just for a good hour long massage. Stop being a Cheap Charlie, you may be surprised what you can get for a little extra.

I agree with Oldcarguy, the only way you guys are ever going to see younger, more attractive girls is to loosen up the wallets a little. If a HJ has always been $40, then it's time it goes up like everything else. An extra $20 isn't going to hurt any of us mongers but it will be appreciated by these poor immigrants who make much less than us. And by the way, if you're going to Centreville to get a HJ, they aren't interested in your repeat business. These are FS parlors and if they have to give $40 HJs they're going to another city. Standard prices at AMPs on the Missouri side that are massage / HE only are $60 for the hour and $40 tip. Service is better some places compared to others, but $100 all-in for the hour is the going rate at the places I've been. If you're paying more, I hope you're getting more than a massage and an HJ.

Why do they all now charge $60? Because they communicate and pay attention to what other AMPs are doing. $100 is standard in STL and needs to stay that way.
