Took advantage of an early bird special so since I was in the city, I went window shopping on National and Greenfield. Mainly because of a previous poster who says he never sees anything. Really? But I'm just looking since I unloaded earlier.

Started cruising at 8:45 AM and it was dead. No pimps, no pushers. Saw two girls on National, one was barely passable for me, the other was young but I like small and petite and she was the opposite. The almost decent one was getting scooped as I drove by. Young, nice face, but she's addicted to Twinkies and is on her way to being a BBW.

First pass on Greenfield, there were two girls and the crack was taking its toll on them. They were beautiful women at one time, but they have been swallowed up by the street. They would have been a pass had I were mongering.

When I swing around again I go buy gas because it was a good price and she gives me the look which I ignore. Dude is gone and she starts working the corner. I go around the block one more time and she's scooped by a red, beat up pickup truck. It had one of those round, amber lights on top of the cab and it was on, the light rotating around inside. Regardless, there is a hard reality here. Virtually all these girls were beautiful at one time. Beautiful! But you can see missing teeth, scabs on the faces, or faces that are just sunken in. Even if you don't do the hard drugs, years of cigarettes, weed, and booze will attack your face and it's a constant with most of them. It's almost as if they have their head pressed into the same mold, the faces all becoming the same, and it's the look of being a street person.

While swinging around a block, there was a zombie standing on the sidewalk. Dirty, stringy hair, and blitzed out of her mind. But cognitive enough to make eye contact with me and desperate to suck a guy just to have a few bucks and make it through the day. I'm thinking I should start carrying a few five dollar bills, some of these people really do need a handout.

While going down National, I see a girl walking with a pimp / pusher when suddenly he cold cocked her on the chin. I circled around the block to get another look but in the 90 seconds it took to do that, they were nowhere to be seen.

The girl of my dreams popped up on STG, she responded right away and we were set. I drive around the block and few times and the one gives me a half hearted eye because they're too busy yakking. Maybe they're going out with real friends? They were too good to be true. Down the block there's this guy standing on the curb, waving at everybody. Well, that's weird. As I go by, there's a young man passed out on the sidewalk. I assume a drug overdose. I'm in traffic and can't just stop, so I turn around again to see if I can help since I know a little first aid, but other people were helping by the time I got back so I continue on. Shortly after that emergency vehicles were making their way in, the sirens forcing the traffic to yield.

So I blew it with an encounter of a girl I really wanted to see. But I wasn't sprawled out on the sidewalk, twitching from breathing fast and shallow. This was just east of 16th on Greenfield. Hot spot for drugs, it's not uncommon to see people sitting on stoops and hitting their pipes.

Suddenly my bad day wasn't so bad. It can get ugly in there.

About halfway through I could have sworn she went to sleep, but I think she was just despondent I wasn't getting off. Eventually it happened for this old man and all was right with the world. Drive slow and easy like a grandma. You need to drive like a grandma because there are too many idiots, let them all win the stupid little traffic fights. Because you need to be watching for bodies and watching the road at the same time. You need to be careful driving when you're attention is not always on the traffic. There are others also looking and you need to be prepared when the morons brake hard or do a hard and unexpected you turn as they try to swoop in on something. When the light turns green, look both ways before proceeding, many run the lights there. So those are things to be aware of, you don't want to be guilty of a DWL accident (Driving While Looking). Stay safe.

They will either make eye contact with you or wave. Most dress normal, if you're expecting the platform shoes and a thong bikini, you won't see that here like you do out west of on TV. Though with the warmer weather you will see that.

National from 26th to about 20th can have a girl on every corner, early evening before it gets dark seems to be a good time for quantity. There will be girls 24/7 in any weather but there are times when an hour goes by before you see anything. Between the McDonald's and convenience store on National a couple blocks east of 27th, this is where the pimps, pushers, and crack ******, for now, can be easily spotted. They are everywhere but this is their current meet up location. You can park in the McDonald's lot or nearby and just watch, it helps to just see the action and interaction. It gives you an idea of what to look for and perhaps what to avoid. Me personally, I would be reluctant to pull up right there for a date. Too many eyes and too many males and I would assume some of them are armed.

If you see a girl on a corner that you like, circle around and drive by them. They will make eye contact or wave. Some will be walking down the street, if you're driving like a grandma, look at them and see if they turn their head and make eye contact.

The one problem with girls in Milwaukee is they get restless. You see one on a corner, you circle around, and they crossed the street. Or they're walking down the block. In the 90 seconds it takes to go around a block, they can get scooped up, you're too late. I was circling around and someone beat me to it, so I followed just to watch. The girl ended up stealing either a wallet or cell phone from an elderly gentleman. Only have cash in your pocket, wallet, I'd, credit cards, phone, garage door opener, they are left at home or locked away and buried within your vehicle.

Cruise enough and you will see the weird. Girls full of chemicals dancing in the street. Or yelling. Walking in traffic or trying to stop traffic. Girls in a doorway hitting their crack pipe. Girls who are dope sick and gyrating uncontrollably.

If you haven't seen anything, even if you are only window shopping or looking to be educated on the human experience, you are just not looking. Most of the time there are only a handful of girls. You can drive the circuit several times and see nothing. And there are times when the show is on and you need a double popcorn while you sit back and be entertained, horrified, or both.

I have actually picked one up at 2nd and National as she was getting off the county bus to start her stroll. There is one, Angel I think, that is around 20th and National that you should stay clear from. Good looking, but she will rip you off. The only SW that has successfully stolen from me and I started this hobby around 2007. Others have had luck on Lincoln, but I haven't. Finally, keep an eye on the side streets, they are there as well. Best of luck on your hunting.

I bombed out on STG (again!) and went back to my roots. Skimming the talent on the SS I bumped first into Rosie around 15/ G. Are you driving too fast? Do you make eye contact with every pedestrian? Don't be discouraged. Greenfield from 6th to 26th. National 27th down to 16th. Others may have seen slores in lower number, but I never have. It's feast or famine out there. I've cruised a lot with nothing to see, and then BAM one day I'm pulling out of Speedway and there's Bella standing right next to my car. So keep cruising and you'll find someone. Will they be acceptable? That's another hit or miss tale. Good luck.

There are SW's all over the place most times of the day. I'm not saying that you may cruise the entire loop and not see any. Just take a little break and go again. Don't keep cruising the same street over and over! The cops will notice you. Some of the more productive spots on Greenfield are: 8th St on the wall or stairs, 10th St to 15th St mostly on the south side of the street and the gas station at Union. Be careful around there. Lots of scumbags hanging around. 20th St to 25th can be pretty decent. Always look at the gas station at 23rd. You can use the taco trucks to park behind to both kill some time and do some scoping out any activity. If you see one and want a better look, go to a block or 2 down the road and circle back to the street where you saw them. Don't pull all the way up to the main street. They will give you the look and come to you.

On National, anywhere from 27th to 16th can be decent, just don't hang in the Walgreen's lot. They have cameras. The Citgo by 19th often times has a girl or 2 hanging around. If you see a BSW, be careful, there are a few trannys that hang out there. The McDonalds at 25th is a decent place to go buy a drink and park by the lot entrance, You see all the girls that walk by on National and you can keep an eye on the convenience store across 25th. There are some real shady characters that hang there and the cops will shag them out of there from time to time.

If all else fails, you can call Bella from STG. Offer her a couple bucks more than a SW and she will usually say OK.
